1946 J. P. Leblanc was born on this date in South Dutham, Quebec. Leblanc played at center for the Red Wings from 19775 to 1979. During his time with Detroit, Leblanc played 147 games, scoring 13 goals along with 28 assists for 41 points.
1977 The Red Wings made a trade with the New York Islanders to acquire Andre St. Laurent. Detroit sent Michel Bergeron to the Islanders to complete the exchange. St. Laurent had a very productive season scoring 31 goal along with 39 assists for a total of 70 points. His production tailed off the following year with 18 goals and 31 assists. After that St Laurent would journey around the NHL and even the CHL until he returned to the Red Wings in 1983 to play in 19 games.
