The Red wings traded to bring Ted Lindsay back to the team. Detroit traded Lindsay away to Chicago back in 1957. This time they re-acquired him with cash going Chicago's way.

Reed Larson became the Red Wings highest scoring defenseman in Red Wings history. He surpassed Red Kelly by scoring an assist in a game against Buffalo. The current holder of that record is of course, Nick Lidstrom.

2010

Mike Modano played his first game as a visitor at Dallas' American Airlines Center. During his one season with the Red Wings, Modano played against the organization he spent over 20 years with. Over 18,000 fans packed the American Airlines Center to welcome Modano back. The Stars have not been drawing nearly that many fans lately. Before his first shift, fans gave Modano a standing ovation as a message of "Thank You, Mike" flashed on the overhead screen.
